DEAR COACHES AND MANAGERS ATTENDING THE 2005 WGHA WINTER WOLF FEST
It is your responsibility to read this document through it's entirety.
We also highly recommend you pass along this website address to your parents and players.

TEAM FINAL CHECK IN PROCEDURES
We ask that 1 Manager or Staff drop over to the Tournament Headquarters @ Iroquois Arena.
Actual Headquarters is found Directly INSIDE the Sports Garden Cafe Restaurant.
Please use the Entry Doors that lead into the Restaurant from inside and near Arena #3.
Front Doors to the restaurant will not be open this early and open at 12:00 noon.
YOU MUST REPORT into headquarters before your first game.
Headquarters Opens Wednesday at 7am.
At this time we will finalize your rosters and any other paperwork.
At this time you will also receive Goody Bags for all your players.
Items such as water, juice, Tournament Programs and a whole host of items.
This process takes only a few minutes.


TOURNAMENT TEAM RESULTS BOARDS
All Results will only be posted inside the Tournament Headquarters.
Convenors will also be updated and supplied / shared information at each arena where possible.

Players may only compete with 1 team and in 1 tournament this weekend.
Example A: If your current roster is 17 and 2 players are sick and can not attend. this brings your roster size down to 15.
This is the maximum you are allowed to roster as per the OWHA Official Handbook.
Example B: If your current roster is 15 and 2 girls are sick etc.
You may call up 2 players to Max your roster to 15 players.

GAME SHEETS & PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
If for some reason an adjustment to your players or staff have inadvertently not shown up on the game sheet labels, it is your responsibility to change and add player names and #s on ALL 3 Copies of the game sheets for accuracy.
ALL PLAYERS & STAFF WILL SIGN ALL Game Sheets and If Absent they must be marked ABSENT in place of their signature.
ALL gamesheets will remain with the Convenor and at no time will a coach or manager remove these to take to a dressing room etc.
Gamesheets will be labelled and found in either:
Main Lobby @ McKinney
Headquarters Sports Garden Cafe - Iroquois
To be eligible to play in a Championship game a player must have played in 1 Round Robin Game.
Each team is Requested to ensure when filling in your game sheets you write in your OWHA or USA HOCKEY Team # for all game sheets.

EARLY GAME TIMES
Please remember all teams are to be ready to play up to 30 mins ahead of their scheduled start times and our convenors will discuss this with coaches if we are planning on starting early. They are also aware about suitable rest time between games and will observe where needed.

DRESSING ROOMS
Your team is responsible for obtaining dressing room keys from the front desk at each arena.
Each team is requested to vacate 20 minutes after their games and leave the dressing rooms in a clean and tidy manner.
In order to ensure the next teams have the keys it is also your responsibility to ensure you return those keys back to the front reception desk as quickly as possible.

REMINDER - GAME START PROCEDURES
THE CLOCK WILL BE SET TO 13 MINUTES.
This includes your teams 3-minute warm-up prior to each game.
All games will begin immediately upon completion of the 3 minute warm up.
Both teams are required to be ready waiting at CENTRE ICE at the 10-Minute mark as the clock will NOT stop until the first stoppage of the game.

SWEATER COLOUR CONFLICTS - HOUSE LEAGUE DIVISIONS
As we are all aware that this division normally only has 1 set of jerseys for their weekly programs.
When teams registered they identify their colours, but as you know Blue comes in many possible Blues SO:
You are encouraged to request from you association or other teams to borrow a set of Pinnies/ Jerseys wherever possible to avoid all the last minute scrambling.
The WGHA has some sets of Pinnies to Cover Up Conflict Colours where needed.
It is the BOTH TEAMS are responsibility to IDENTIFY this Conflict a minimum 30 Minutes before their game time.
HOME TEAM Will wear Pinnies if needed.
A SET of KEYS will be required in EXCHANGE for the use of these Pinnies.
See the Arena Convenor for a Set if available.
All teams are requested where possible to approach their association for another borrowed set of jerseys where possible.

SAFETY - NECK GUARDS VS. MOUTHGUARDS
ALL CANADIAN TEAMS - MANDATORY BNQ NECKGUARDS AS PER HOCKEY CANADA.
MOUTHGUARDS are only Recommended by the OWHA and this tournament does not Mandate the use of mouthguards.

SUSPENSIONS
Any player or staff currently serving suspensions must be indicated on the game sheets in the usual manner - this information is to be placed in the area where the player's signature would normally go. IE - (Game 2 of 3)

CHEERIO'S BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS
We are in the process of offering the Breakfast of Champions again and working out details with the Sports Garden Cafe Restaurant.

"SKATE WITH GERALDINE HEANEY"
Thursday December 29th at 12:30pm - 1:20pm
All ticket holders will be on Arena 6 Iroquois for our annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser.
Tickets are $5 each and available for Sale inside Tournament Headquarters and at the Team Canada Auction Booth in the Lobby of Iroquois all 3 days.
This years event will also see Lexmark Printers taking photos and giving the Ticket Holders a Free Photo.
This years event will also see Kool-Aid involved with some sampling.
So if you are available please help support a great cause which the WGHA annually contributes to...as well Geraldine Heaney is the mist decorated female hockey player in the world and will also have her Gold Medal from Salt Lake on hand.

SHOOT FOR A CURE BOOTH - SOURCE FOR SPORTS - SPINAL CORD RESEARCH
Source For Sports will be setting up their "Shoot For A Cure Booth" right inside the Tournament Headquarters.
Contestants fire pucks at the Lit Up Screen to win some great prizes as well all participants receive something.
Come on down take a few shots to help the Spinal Cord Research!!

VENDORS
This years final list of vendors will be posted later.
The biggest draw will be our "Team Canada Table" which features a "Fully Autographed Women's Canadian National Team Canada Jersey " in a separate draw so wouldn't that be nice to wear for the start of the 2006 Olympics start in February.
However you will see:

Leah's Jewellery Booth,
Eugene's Framed Artwork
The Hoodie Man....and hopefully a few new folks to be added such as a Caricature and Henna Tattoo booth.
