22nd Annual Scarborough Sharks "Ice Trials" HOCKEY TOURNAMENT January 13-14-15, 2006 SCARBOROUGH - ONTARIO OWHA Sanction #0506037 Final Important Information Please make sure you share this website address with your parents and players to allow them to keep updated on new things happening at the tournament. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PADLOCK AND KEYS Some Scarborough arenas do NOT supply their own Dressing Room Keys & Locks so please ensure you have on hand 1-2 Padlocks & extra keys just in case. Team Officials will be responsible to trade car keys for dressing room keys at the arena reception area that do so. Our Arena convenors will NOT be handling dressing room keys and assignment will be posted on the arena dressing room allocation boards normally located in the main lobby. NWHL FRIDAY NIGHT GAME TICKETS Toronto Aeros vs. Durham Lightning Well this will be an awesome game filled with lots of action. This game also has post game autograph sessions with the stars of the NWHL, so bring your items and sharpie markers to get those items autographed. All Tickets are $5 Advance and $7 At the Door. Seating is General Admission and promises to be a very exciting night out for those teams who have not had a chance to see these two teams go head to head. If you are traveling Eastbound on Eglinton as soon as you see Kennedy Road you will start to go over the LRT (Light Rail Transit) OVERPASS Bridge, Please stay in the right hand lane as you will exit at the bottom of this overpass.
If you are traveling Westbound on Eglinton as soon as you see Midland Avenue please stay on your right hand side as you will drive UNDER the Overpass bridge and end up on the other side (Southside) and in front of the arena. If you miss the turn you can always turn around at Kennedy Road and come back Eastbound. When you arrive at this arena there will PROBABLY be a parking attendant out front in a booth. Please inform him/her you are here for the Scarborough Sharks Tournament...DO NOT PAY. There is lots and lots of parking down behind the arena so please make good use of the Ample Parking located at the Southside of the building and save yourself frustration and time looking for the perfect parking spot. TEAM CHECK IN PROCEDURES We ask that all Managers or a Member of the coaching staff come prepared with the appropriate paperwork to the Tournament Headquarters MID SCARBOROUGH ARENA Based on your teams actual start times and travel times we recommend that you report in before your first game where possible if time permits Or Immediately Following your first game as it is absolutely necessary. We must see you personally to conduct our final registration process and check documents etc. We will have the Headquarters Office Open on Thursday Night at 8pm – 9:30pm for any teams traveling in or local teams wishing to have it taken care sooner rather then later. TEAM & MANAGER PACKAGES Each team will be receiving Complimentary Tournament Programs, which will be available at your first game. When you arrive at your first game of the tournament the convenor on site will supply each team with their bags, a team official will sign upon receipt of these Bags. You are also requested to drop into Tournament Headquarters as noted above to Officially register the team as well you can pick up other assorted goodies and items for your players. We understand quite a few teams are on tight schedules so if a parent would like to drop by on the teams behalf and sign for these items we would be more then glad to allow them to do so. PLAYER AND TEAM DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED IN FORMATION All USA Registered Teams will be required to produce a Photocopy of your Official USA Hockey Roster as well any Travel Permits ALL OWHA Registered Teams will be required to produce a Photocopy of your Official OWHA Participant Registration Form and any change of participant information. CALL UP & PICKUP PLAYERS & PAPERWORK As per the 2005 -2006 OWHA Handbook please review pages 37 to 39. www.owha.on.ca/forms.asp You need to be very clear on this ruling. Players may only compete with 1 team and in 1 tournament this weekend. Please be clear and read the OWHA pick-up rules for tournaments. Example: If your current roster is 17 and 2 players are sick and can not attend. This brings your roster size down to 15...This is the maximum you are allowed as per the Official Handbook and you are NOT permitted to pick up players. Example: If your current roster is 15 and 2 girls are sick etc. You may call up 2 players to Max your roster to 15 players provided you have the appropriate paperwork ready and properly completed. Example: If your current roster is 17 and 4 players are sick and can not attend. This brings your roster size down to 13... You may call up 2 players to Max your roster up to 15 players provided you have the appropriate paperwork ready and properly completed. PAPERWORK REQUIRED Various Forms are available at the OWHA Site Link Below www.owha.on.ca/forms.asp An OWHA Pickup Consent Form – “Sanctioned Tournaments” For any player of this category provided the Call Up or Pickup does not exceed the roster rules as listed above. Any OWHA player new to your roster that may have had a “Change of Participant Form” we will require a copy of this as well. BE SURE this paperwork is filled in correctly and dated correctly and that you have chosen the correct form for OWHA Sanctioned Tournaments. GAME SHEETS - LABELS & ELIGIBILITY If for some reason an adjustment to your players or staff has inadvertently not shown up on the game sheet labels, it is your responsibility to change and add player names and #s on ALL 3 copies of the game sheets for accuracy. Players and staff will sign ALL Game sheets and if ABSENT they must be marked ABSENT in place of their signature. To be eligible to play in a Semi Final or Championship game a player must have played in 1 Round Robin game. Each team is requested to ensure when filling in your game sheets you write in your OWHA or USA HOCKEY Team # in the section at the top for all game sheets if not filled in before hand. NECK GUARDS AND MOUTHGUARDS Just for clarification purposes ALL USA TEAMS - MANDATORY MOUTHGUARDS AS PER USA HOCKEY ALL CANADIAN TEAMS - MANDATORY BNQ NECKGUARDS AS PER HOCKEY CANADA SUSPENSIONS Any player or staff currently serving suspensions must be indicated on the game sheets in the usual manner. This information is to be placed in the area where the player’s signature would normally go. I.E. (Serving Game 2 of 3) TOURNAMENTS RESULTS All Hard Copy Results will only be posted inside the Tournament Headquarters @ MID SCARBOROUGH ARENA. These will be the official record. Game results will also be posted on the website: www.sportacularevent.com You are asked due to individual computer settings to hit your REFRESH BUTTON each time you come to this page. Some people’s computers “Cache old” information which will take you to old information until you hit the REFRESH BUTTON. The location is just minutes from the Delta East Hotel just on the other side of Hwy 401 & Kennedy Road.
