21st Annual Scarborough Sharks "Ice Trials" HOCKEY TOURNAMENT January 14-15-16, 2005 SCARBOROUGH - ONTARIO OWHA Sanction # 0405079 PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PADLOCK AND KEYS Some arenas DO NOT supply their own Dressing Room Keys & Locks so please ensure you have on hand 1-2 Padlocks & keys just in case. TEAM CHECK IN PROCEDURES: We ask that all Managers or Staff drop over to the Tournament Headquarters @ MID SCARBOROUGH ARENA And based on your teams start times and travel times that: We recommend that you report in either before your first game if time permits. Or directly after your first game if time and travel permits. REGARDLESS we must see you to conduct our final registration, check documents etc. MID SCARBOROUGH ARENA - HEADQUARTERS If you are travelling Eastbound on Eglinton as soon as you see Kennedy Road you will start to go over the LRT (Light Rail Transit) OVERPASS Bridge, Please stay in the right hand lane as you will exit at the bottom of this overpass. If you are travelling Westbound on Eglinton as soon as you see Midland Road please stay on your right hand side as you will drive UNDER the Overpass bridge and end up on the other side ( Southside) and in front of the arena. If you miss the turn you can always turn around at Kennedy Road and come back Eastbound. When you arrive at this arena there will PROBABLY be a parking attendant . Please inform him/her you are here for the Scarborough Sharks Tournament...Do not pay. There is lot's and lot's of parking down behind the arena so please make good use of the Ample Parking located at the Southside of the building and save yourself frustration and time looking for the perfect parking spot. TEAM & MANAGER PACKAGES Each team will be receiving complimentary Tournament Programs, which will be available in your goody bags at your first game. When you arrive at your first game the convenor will supply each team their bags, you will sign upon receipt of their grab bags. NWHL SATURDAY NIGHT GAME TICKETS Those who have reviewed the schedule and are available and would like to attend the game should contact Greg Collins quickly to secure your game tickets and make arrangements for pickup and payment. gregcollins@collinschrislind.com TEAM RESULTS & Tournament Results: All Results will only be posted inside the Tournament Headquarters @ MID SCARBOROUGH ARENA. Convenors will also be updated and supplied / shared information at each arena where possible. Player and Team Information: All USA Registered Teams will be required to produce a Photocopy of your Official USA Hockey Roster as well any Travel Permits. ALL OWHA Registered Teams will be required to produce a Photocopy of your Official OWHA Team Registration Form. Call Up & Pickup Players & Paperwork: As per the 2004-2005 OWHA Handbook please review pages 37 & 38. www.owha.on.ca/forms.asp You need to be very clear on this ruling. Players may only compete with 1 team and in 1 tournament this weekend. Example: If your current roster is 17 and 2 players are sick and can not attend. this brings your roster size down to 15..This is the maximum you are allowed as per the Official Handbook. Example: If your current roster is 15 and 2 girls are sick etc. You may call up 2 players to Max your roster to 15 players. Paperwork Required: Various Forms are available at the OWHA Site Link Below www.owha.on.ca/forms.asp An OWHA Pickup Consent Form - Sanctioned Tournaments for any player of this category. Any OWHA player new to your roster that may have had a Change of Participant Form we will require a copy of this as well. BE SURE this paperwork is filled in correctly and you have chosen the correct form for Sanctioned Tournaments. Game Sheets - Labels & Eligibility If for some reason an adjustment to your players or staff have inadvertently not shown up on the game sheet labels, it is your responsibility to change and add player names and #s on ALL 3 Copies of the game sheets for accuracy. Players and staff will sign ALL Game sheets and If Absent they must be marked ABSENT in place of their signature. To be eligible to play in a Championship game a player must have played in 1 round robin game. Each team is Requested to ensure when filling in your game sheets you write in your OWHA or USA HOCKEY Team # for all game sheets. MIDGET AA & BANTAM AA Teams Schedules: Please be early as possible as you will see on the schedule we have allotted 2 hrs per game however we did not reflect this on the schedule to allow for these games ending earlier. As you know these games take approx 1.5 hrs in length so we ask that due to this fact we will probably be ahead of schedule that you arrive as early as possible to assist us in this manner to keep all games on time. NECK GUARDS VS. MOUTHGUARDS ALL USA TEAMS - MANDATORY MOUTHGUARDS AS PER USA HOCKEY ALL CANADIAN TEAMS - MANDATORY BNQ NECKGUARDS AS PER HOCKEY CANADA SUSPENSIONS: Any player or staff currently serving suspensions must be indicated on the game sheets in the usual manner - This information is to be placed in the area where the player's signature would normally go. IE - (Game 2 of 3) SWEATER Color Conflicts - House league Divisions As we are all aware that this division normally only has 1 set of jerseys for their weekly programs. When teams registered they identify their colors, but as you know Blue comes in many possible Blues SO: You are encouraged to request from you association or other teams to borrow a set of Pinnies/ Jerseys wherever possible to avoid all the last minute scrambling to adjust and we will do our best to identify with your assistance as early as possible before game start times. OFFICIAL 21ST ANNUAL T-SHIRTS ONLY $10 While Supplies Last This years 21st Annual T-Shirt that has ALL 23 Divisions and ALL 118 Team Names listed on the back. What a great mementos or better yet an end of season gifts for coach's and team staff and great to act as an Autograph collector for Saturday Nights NWHL Game. They will be sold at Various Arena sites while QTY's LAST! The MAIN SITE selling these T-shirts will be directly located inside the Tournament Headquarters at Mid Scarborough Arena where the players and staff will sign their gamesheets. SATURDAY NIGHT TEAM KAROAKE: HAS BEEN REPLACED ON THE Saturday night now with the NWHL Game CHEERIOS BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS Again due to various reasons we regret to inform you we will not be able to offer this year. |
